We have been coming to Vintner’s Golf Club in Yountville for lunch every now and then for years, and it always shows up on our list when we want something easy and close to home. This time we drove over without much of a plan, just hungry and ready to sit outside for a while, and it reminded us why we keep coming back.
A Lunch Spot You Don’t Need a Membership For
One thing a lot of people do not realize about Vintner’s Golf Club is that you do not need a golf membership to eat at the Lakeside Grill. The restaurant sits right inside the clubhouse, and anyone can walk in for a burger, a sandwich, or a plate of fried appetizers, no tee time required. It is located at 7901 Solano Ave, Yountville, CA 94599, and it stays open for lunch on weekdays from 11am to 3pm, and for breakfast and lunch on weekends from 9am to 3pm.
What We Ordered (And Why the Chips Surprised Us)
We noticed the menu had changed a bit since our last visit, and at first we were a little disappointed to see that the burger came with chips instead of French fries. We are usually fries people, so that felt like a downgrade before we even took a bite. It turned out we had nothing to worry about, because the chips tasted like they were made in house, thin, crunchy, and seasoned just right. The burger itself was cooked well and full of flavor, so between the two, our first impression flipped completely by the time we finished eating.

The View That Makes It Worth the Trip
The real reason we keep choosing this spot is the view from the lakeside patio. You get a clear look at the golf course and the small lake right next to the clubhouse, and on a warm Napa Valley afternoon it is hard to beat. If you would rather stay inside, there is comfortable indoor seating as well, so it works whether you want fresh air or air conditioning.
